Sponsoring a bus for parishioners to attend Rosary Sunday is a wonderful way to support this annual celebration. Through the years people who have been involved in getting a bus have shared their experiences on sponsoring a bus and making arrangements.
1.Search out best bus deal--sometimes the prices can be negotiated. Refer to listings below.
2.After final arrangements have been made and the charge per person is established, advertise weekly in your
parish bulletin. Keep the ad in the parish bulletin until bus is full.
4.Sell tickets. If passengers buy tickets they are more likely to attend.
5. Go to meetings at your parish and talk up attending Rosary Sunday by bus. Sell tickets.
5.Have passengers arrive at designated area 15-20 minutes before departure. It is better to wait for the bus
rather than the bus wait for passengers. (Keep hourly cost down)
6.Instruct attendees to sit and stay together as a group at the Rosary Sunday. There will be a designated
area for bus people.
7.Put a large sign in the window of the bus designating this is your parish bus
8.Make sure you have bus instruction for your driver. John Reichenberger will have instructions.
9.Two parishes can share a bus.
10. Organizations within your parishes might like to help subsidize the bus cost.
...It is important to reserve a bus 1 1/2 months early. The cost of bus rentals will be higher than last year due to the cost of gas, plus a fuel surcharge. Here is a list of the bus lines that have been used in the past:
Arrow Bus Lines.………… Dortha Harris 602-437-3484
Laidlaw Bus Lines…………Kathy, 602-484-7646
(reasonable)
Southwest Charter Lines.. Amy Thomas, 480-890-9872
Yavapai Bus Tours……Donna Basore, 928-5676987
School buses are an excellent means of transportation to Rosary Sunday. With gas prices half of what they were last year, prices should be good. Please tell your bus driver that a free lunch will be served to them at St. Vincent de Paul.Click here for the map to get from Convention Center to St. Vincent's
If you are getting a bus, please let John Reichenberger know so that we can give you (and your bus driver) the final bus instructions. We also need to know how many busses are coming.
Light Rail to Rosary Sunday is now available. It can drop you off and pick you up at the Convention Center for a fraction of the cost of parking or renting a bus.

Advertising in our Rosary Sunday Program Book is our major source of income. It is a tremendous job to put the Rosary Sunday Program Book together. The earlier the ads are placed, the easier it is to complete the program book and thus keep expenses down.
Last year through the efforts of Rick Garrison we were able to save over $6,000 in the printing of the Rosary Sunday Program Book. Please help this year with this endeavor by securing ads for the Program Book NOW! Ads submitted electronically are preferred; quality of scanned ads cannot be guaranteed. E-mail copy of ad and contact info to: KofCRick@Q.com. Ad should be in WORD (doc) and PDF format. Questions regarding format or ad forms: email Rick.
We want all Knights of Columbus councils, organizations, parishes and groups to be represented in the Program Book.
Display ads: Regular (Knights of Columbus, Legion of Mary, business, church, organization) ads that are printed in the Program Book.
Individual ads: These are donations in various categories on special pages in the program book. These pages are a giant step in reaching our goal to provide the necessary income for Rosary Sunday expenses, which have increased dramatically the last few years. Your support is most needed.
Please note: Forms are on the websites: www.rosarysunday.com www.azkniahtsofcolumbus.com

to participate in the Diocesan Rosary Sunday celebration on October 12, 2008. It will be an honor for your servers, grade school and high school students to participate in this annual program. They will remember it for many years. It will let them experience the larger church of Phoenix and meet Altar Servers from other parishes. It may even encourage them to investigate the possibility of a religious vocation. Your Altar Servers will have the opportunity to meet Bishop Olmsted, keynote speaker Fr. John Hampsch, CMF, and other priests in the Diocese.
The servers will be in the procession with Bishop Olmsted and also be in the Blessed Sacrament Possession. Last year over 130 Altar Servers participated.
Dr. Joseph Kimbuende and his assistants will greet the Altar Servers as they enter Hall F at the Phoenix Convention Center. The servers will be instructed on how to serve at this special event.
The Diocesan Rosary Sunday will take place on October 12. The servers should arrive before 1:15 P.M. at Hall F of the Phoenix Convention Center. Each server should bring what they normally wear when serving Mass; for example, their robe, cassock, cincture and so forth.
Servers who participate will receive a Miraculous Medal blessed by Pope Benedict XVI. We hope that you will have a large number of your servers take part in this historic event. If you have any questions please contact Dr. Joseph Kimbuende or Deacon Pat Flyn.
Grand Knights are urged to provide ushers for Rosary Sunday 2008. The Convention Center requests that we have more ushers than last year. An event of this magnitude in honor of Our Lady certainly warrants a great response. Please click here to cantact Bob Krejci.
Novena for Success of Rosary Sunday Begin in August
O ever Immaculate Virgin, Mother of mercy, health of the sick, refuge of sinners, comforter of the afflilcted, you know my wants, my troubles, my sufferings, look with mercy on me.
By appearing in the Grotto of Lourdes, you were pleased to make it a privileged sanctuary, whence you dispense your favors; and already many sufferers have obtained the cure of their infirmities, both spiritual and corporal.
I come, therefore, with complete confidence to implore your maternal intercession. Obtain, O loving Mother, the grant of my requests. Through gratitude for your favors, I will endeavor to imitate your virtues, that I may one day share your glory. Amen.

The points above were submitted by Helen Grayek, the Rosary Sunday Prayer Campaign Chairperson. Helen visited Holy Cross Family Ministries in Massachusetts, an organization founded by Fr. Patrick Peyton. Family Ministries was integrally involved in the recent successful Rosary Bowls in the U.S. The success of these bowls was attributed to the pre-event prayer campaign.
